Brand identity
from nothing

Quidget brand identity

The problem

AI startups in 2023 all looked the same: gradients, neural network patterns, cold blues and purples. Generic signals of "technology" that meant nothing to the small business owners who would actually use the product.

Quidget needed a brand that felt capable without being cold — approachable without being naïve. It had to work on dark backgrounds in the product, white backgrounds on the website, and tiny at app icon size.

Quidget logo system

Logo system — mark and wordmark across contexts, built for dark and light environments.

The approach

The logomark came from the idea of a chat bubble with embedded intelligence — something that felt conversational rather than mechanical. Clean geometry, a single distinctive form, no decorative complexity. The kind of mark that reads clearly at 16px as an app icon.

Color strategy centered on a warm, confident teal-to-indigo gradient for the mark — distinguishing from the cold blue of enterprise AI — with a near-black dark background for product contexts and clean white for marketing. The palette had to flex across both without losing coherence.

Typography paired a geometric sans for product UI (crisp, readable, neutral) with the same system extended to marketing. Every touchpoint — favicon, social media, email headers, app store screenshots — was specified in the brand system.

Quidget app icon and brand applications

Brand applications — app icon, dark UI, and the core mark across contexts.

The result

The brand became the foundation everything else was built on. The product design, the marketing website, the onboarding experience — all of it extended from the same visual DNA. When new components needed to be designed, the system answered most questions before they were asked.

Good brand identity mostly goes unnoticed. You only notice when it's missing.
