Designing the zero-to-working-AI experience — from skeptical business owner to amazed in under two minutes.
Even after pivoting Quidget from traditional chatbot building to focus on AI agents, setup was still too complicated for business owners. They had to manually upload PDFs, configure conversation flows, customize branding — most people gave up before ever experiencing the value.
The core problem was psychological. People wanted to see if the AI understood their business, but had to invest hours just to find out. The product worked. Users just never got far enough to discover it.
Step 2 — Train your AI Agent. The system scans your website and documents, preparing all sources.
I designed an experience where business owners watch their AI agent build itself. Enter your website URL. The AI scans your content, extracts company information, pulls your logo, matches your colors, learns your tone.
Within two minutes — a fully branded AI agent answering real questions about your actual business. The setup process became the demo. The demo became the sale.
I also wrote the prompts that made this automation possible, ensuring intelligent extraction without requiring manual input from the user at any step.
Step 3 — Customize your AI Agent. Brand extraction happens automatically — logo, color, welcome message, suggested questions.
Making complex server-side processing feel magical required showing progress without overwhelming users. Brand extraction had to feel natural, not algorithmic. The final agent needed to look native to their website — not like a generic widget dropped in.
I built the design system to support infinite brand variations. Every component had to work with any color scheme, logo style, or industry context. Whether you're a law firm or a coffee shop, the result needed to feel intentional.
While competitors required hours of manual setup, we got to a working, branded agent in under two minutes.
Users would call colleagues over to watch. Going from skeptical to working in two minutes was a better demo than anything we could have scripted.
